I’ve been working as an electrical engineer in the energy sector in Germany and Switzerland since I graduated, and I’ve encountered colleagues from Fichtner at every stage of my career. After returning from Switzerland a good five years ago, I then decided to apply to Fichtner as well, in order to become part of this diverse project work. I started out at Fichtner as a project manager for substations and overhead power lines.

I have never regretted my decision since. We work as an independent engineering firm on a wide variety of projects and for a wide variety of clients. That makes for an incredibly varied field of activity. There are currently an incredible number of projects as a result of the energy transition in Germany. Our team for the German market has grown rapidly in recent years, so I was able to take over my own project department fairly quickly. I now manage projects here with around 50 colleagues and have the opportunity to develop this further and build it up independently.

We are a team with a wide range of expertise, from electrical engineering, civil engineering, forestry, environmental and permitting, to mechanical engineering, project control and many more. This means that I’m faced with new and exciting topics and challenges every day, which we work together to figure out and put into practice for our clients. Fichtner gives me the opportunity to continually develop without ever getting bored or feeling stagnant.
