We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Draughtsman to join our Kuala Lumpur office. In this role, you will produce high-quality technical drawings and models that support the design, engineering, and execution of complex power projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with power sector experience to work on diverse, high-impact international assignments in a modern consulting environment. Your drawings will help bring to life efficient thermal plants, sustainable waste-to-energy systems, reliable substations and switchyards, and renewable hydropower installations.

Your Tasks

  • Produce and update accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, plot plans including General Arrangement (GA) layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring and schematic diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layouts for thermal and hybrid power plants. Drawings should reflect operability, maintainability, traffic flows, and equipment access/rigging constraints
  • Develop and revise drawings for Thermal Power Plants, Waste-to-Energy facilities, Substations & Switchyards (up to high-voltage levels) working from engineer sketches, specifications, and site data.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, civil) to ensure drawings are clash-free, compliant with standards, and fully integrated.
  • Ensure all deliverables adhere to international standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and relevant local regulations) and company/client quality requirements.
  • Maintain revision control, drawing registers, and as builts; ensure compliance with project/utility standards and submission protocols.

Your Profile

  • Education: Diploma (or higher) in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years as a Draughtsman in power generation, transmission, or heavy industrial projects. Direct experience with thermal power plants, waste-to-energy, substations/switchyards, or hydropower is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) — essential.
  • Experience with additional tools such as Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or Navisworks is a strong advantage.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems (SLDs, schematics, substation layouts), mechanical systems (P&IDs, equipment arrangement), and civil/structural drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and good command of English (written and spoken).
